He was drawn in March of 2004.0:47His drawing is counting ten people.0:51I, and we, have been turned away from this space on several occasions.0:56One of my favorites was when we were asked to go inside and talk to the management.1:01We were put on the front desk phone to talk with the management in the scraper above us.1:05We had one story, and they had dozens of stories between us.1:10The story was repeated verbatim to every new voice I heard.1:14There was talk of writing proposals, approving sketches, and of course, talking to people further up the chain.1:20It was a no that went on for 40 minutes and was an intriguing enough choir of indecision that it was a privilege to behold it.1:31It is always a privilege to have time on our side.1:35Two years later, on a brisk end of winter day, we have found the opening to casually draw Patrick Byrne in this peaceful, considered, and well-guarded urban park.1:47He was an excellent firefighter who knew his job, said Burns Fire Captain Thomas Giordano.1:52Whenever a family member would ask Burns what he did at the firehouse, his mother would say in reply,1:56fighting fires, saving lives.← Location 153Heart Two · Location 154Location 155 →
