He was drawn in September of 2002. His drawing is counting 10 people.0:48Mr. Colley, 30, scored 100% on the fire department exam and was assigned to Ladder Company 136 in Elmhurst, Queens.0:57He was a walking billboard for the fire department, said his younger brother, NewYorkTimes.com.1:04This store wall is directly on our path, a short walk into the building.1:08When working outside, it is the act of kneeling on the streets that brings quick and scrutinizing attention from all who pass by.1:14It is at that moment that I can feel people judging my actions.1:18I cannot see them, but they can kick me.1:22Drawing with your back to people and your face two feet from the wall is awkward enough.1:27But then, with every drawing, there is a moment when I commit to a kneeling position.1:31It is this vulnerable position that exposes me further.1:35He was a walking billboard for the fire department, said his younger brother.1:38He had drawers of FDNY t-shirts and rarely wore anything else.1:42He was furious when he was off duty during a big fire.1:45I could see how happy he was, said Brendan Colley, who was studying for the fire department test.1:50They're buddies, hanging out, talking about fires, baseball.← Location 167Heart Two · Location 168Location 169 →
