The first time we explored this intersection with0:34the intention of drawing, a very funny scenario unfolded before us. Police officers were dutifully0:40doing their jobs on opposite street corners. Behind one of them was a wide flat pillar that0:46created a small space for pedestrians to cut through the corner of the building.0:51In a Charlie Chaplin-esque world, it would be inevitable that I would start drawing right0:55right behind the police officer, separated only by a foot-wide pillar. It was the potential1:00foundation for an old Mendoz commercial. Urges saddled by maturity, I waited a year and then1:06returned to find a wonderful little bit of construction to work in. Joan Chiafalo said1:12that her husband was her best friend. I've known him since high school, she said. We talked all the1:16time. Their son, Nicholas Chiofalo Jr., is 13.
