It is never even considered.1:40Instead, we set out on the task of weaving the drawing of Jeffrey Giordano into a fence.1:46Passing the tape by both sides of the fencing, we were able to make, slowly but surely, the likeness of this fireman.1:53The fence is the quintessential canvas of memorials.1:57The fence provides the interlacing gridwork that can be utilized for the displays of flowers, drawings, mementos, memorabilia, personal artifacts, or icons that are the result of spontaneous outpourings from a sympathetic public.2:10The mesh walls designed to keep the public at bay during times of emergency are also the vessels that provide solace.2:18For many, it is the only way they can publicly mourn and give acknowledgment to those who have passed away.2:24By the end of our drawing on the fence, dozens of people had called the front desk inside the looming Trump Tower.2:30They sent someone out to chat with us. It was a good conversation, but it became imperative that we wrap up our activities and move on.2:38We decided it would be our last drawing of the day.2:43His wife's beloved stepfather, clinging to life in the burn center at New York Hospital,2:49made Jeffrey Giordano promise to become a firefighter.2:53Firefighter Giordano, 45, also became a devoted friend of the burn center,2:58where adults and children go to heal and where his wife Marie worked.3:01He took ice cream to the children there and endlessly raised money for the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation.3:08On January 22nd, the hospital will open a children's playroom in the Burn Center.3:13It will be named for Firefighter Giordano.← Location 255Heart Three · Location 256Location 257 →
