His drawing is counting five people. I can feel the weather changing. Old broken fingers1:06are sending subtle, slow Morse code throbs. Plit, plit, plit, times a million. It starts to rain.1:15A lot. Having seen a hint of this coming, we have ducked under a canopy to draw, but nowhere is safe1:21from that fine blend of hydrogen and oxygen. If it can get to you, it will. It finds joy in1:28exploiting its abilities to permeate, saturate, and invigorate. As we are drawing, streaks of1:33water start coming down the wall and the race is on. An obvious observation about tape is that once1:40the surface to which it is to be applied is wet, then the tape will not stick at all. This sets1:47sets the stage for materials to stand off of stone, tape, and water.1:52We finished our drawing of John Giordano1:54and stood under the canopy talking.1:57Three drawings are all we get to do today.2:00We'll be back tomorrow.2:02For now, we can just enjoy watching the color2:05of the drenched world before us get darker, wetter, and untapable.2:12John Giordano was a scholar, a classical guitarist,2:15a father, and a hero.2:17Giordano used his knowledge of science and firefighting to find his way on board an elite hazardous material squad with the New York City Fire Department.2:26He was a father to Jonathan, Jordan, and Jessica, and husband to Roxanne.← Location 259Heart Three · Location 260Location 261 →
