I picture myself as a1:59two-dimensional plane on the rock and then start coloring in that mental outline with snow. Layer2:06after layer of snow, scooped, pounded, and flattened. What remains on this rock is the2:13the impression of my memory, the memory of my presence and the presence of this person.2:20Harvey Harrell Jr., 49, was a fire lieutenant, hazardous waste responder, and rescue diver2:27who inspired his younger brother, Stephen, to become a firefighter. Both brothers perished2:33trying to save others trapped in the World Trade Center. During his 22 years with the FDNY,2:38why, Harrell was involved with many major emergency operations. He was among those who responded to2:45the World Trade Center bombing in 1993. In 1996, when TWA Flight 800 crashed off Long Island,2:52he was called away from vacation to work as a rescue diver.← Location 283Heart Three · Location 284Location 285 →
