From certain angles, it appeared to be standing unassisted in1:04front of the tree. From a distance, it had the genuine feel of someone passing along the open1:10field. The power of creating all these people life-size was particularly felt while finishing1:16this rendition of Lieutenant Michael Healey. I think it was emphasized by the fact that we1:23we were not only creating an outline of someone,1:25we were forming their body in the round across the skin of the tree.1:29Fusing the materials of snow and tree bark together1:31seemed a natural marriage of natural materials.1:35Interestingly enough, this figure was responded to by several of our passerbys.1:41Perhaps people will take note of the manner in which we have made this person,1:45and others will start making human likenesses on trees with snow also.1:49It would thrill me to see a large number of trees being utilized as canvases for the sticky white substance.1:59But most likely, Mr. Healy's portrait will fade away into the spring and live only in the memories of those who saw it.2:09Michael K. Healy used to clean the bathroom at home.2:11He was married for 20 years to Teresa Healy, with whom he had three children,2:16and who said that he cleaned everything from the bathroom to the bedroom to the kitchen2:20without putting up a fuss.2:22He even did the laundry.2:23And the couple always made time for date night,2:26where once a week they go out for dinner, grab a beer, or do something as simple as grocery shopping.← Location 292Heart Three · Location 293Location 294 →
