The fence switches back and forth between0:33brick and metal bars. And on the very last couple of square feet of the short bricks0:40is the location that the drawing was made.0:44This is Robert Grant Norton. He was drawn in July of 2003. His drawing is counting ten0:53people.0:56Countering the temporary nature of these drawings, of course, are the photographs that we are taking.1:02We have the stability of the slides being complemented with the waywardness of the digital cameras.1:07About a year ago, there was a small group of us back at the studio with all of our computers networked together, working on this project.1:15Over the network, one folder labeled Raw Digital Pictures was accidentally erased.1:20raced. Two keys were touched in unison, and with the successfulness of this unfortunate action,1:27thousands of images disappeared forever. Every personal photograph I had taken for the last two1:33years, gone in less than a second. To all the technical-minded folks who believe that you can1:39get these back, you will have to trust that we did everything we could to retrieve these images.1:44pages. In that folder's directory, there was only one more folder labeled Tape Art.1:50Had that folder been highlighted when the erasing occurred, I may not be typing this1:55today. Please be patient with any poorly taken photographs we have on this site, because2:01in reflection, we are just happy that we have them at all.2:08Robert Grant Norton and his wife Jacqueline were traveling to California for the wedding2:13of their son. Despite his age, Norton was energetic and had a fun-loving personality.2:18Two weeks before his death, he helped repair the concrete steps at the church's back entrance.2:24He tried to inspire more humor in the sermons of Reverend Edwin Randall2:28by giving him a book of quotes and malaprops from legendary New York Yankee catcher Yogi Bear.← Location 324Heart Three · Location 325Location 326 →
