He was drawn in July of 2004.0:36His drawing is counting one person.0:40You do most of your drawings in broad daylight, in public places,0:44sometimes in front of people, sometimes not,0:46but can you describe some of the reactions you've gotten from people0:49who have seen you do the drawings?0:52I feel like it really depended wildly on the actual street you're drawing on0:57and what the makeup of that specific community is like.1:00So in some neighborhoods, people are really prone to asking questions1:05and being inquisitive but also being open and excited.1:10So in the districts of Manhattan that are more known for their creative communities,1:17it's generally assumed that we must be up to some creative endeavor,1:21whereas in the more skittish parts of Manhattan1:24and even downtown in the financial district near the towers, security becomes a primary concern.1:30And the people that we're dealing with are mostly security guards, undercover police, and, you know, whoever on the street.1:40So in a lot of places, most people are just watching, either as like passive, casual observers walking by.1:47by, or in the case of say Chinatown for instance where literally like crowds of people would1:54come to observe the drawing, or rather stop to observe the drawing, but rarely ask any2:01questions.2:03Questions most often came from individuals who would be passing by who generally had2:08a stake in, if not the building, then the block.2:11So it's somebody who might know a neighbor on the street and want to know why somebody's2:17broad daylight and what are you up to and we had a pamphlet that we would print up cut out and2:23hand out to people passing by and that pamphlet would help us show them visually what it was we2:30were doing and give us a basis of reference in conversation say well look at this map and this2:35is what we're doing and that would help sort of appease people and generally you know people come2:42come to us with a sort of concern and we would transform that into an enthusiasm.2:50And ultimately most people we interacted with were psyched to hear what we were doing and2:58pretty amazed.3:01Ms. Lillo said he wanted us to go to Disney World.3:04I said let's wait until we have kids.3:06They had an appointment with a fertility doctor for this week.3:10On the morning of September 11th, Ms. Lillo escaped from her office in One World Trade Center just as the building collapsed.3:19Then I saw an article in Newsweek and his picture was there, she said.
