The drawing was made on the spine of these bay windows on a0:33multi-plane surface between two graded windows facing into the basement.0:39This is Mark Bavis. He was drawn in July of 2004. His drawing is counting one person.0:49We're trying to make every single one of these drawings as individual as possible,0:53which of course when you're drawing the firemen, we had a systematic way of representing them,1:00so we're sort of in the same ballpark, but the thing that made it really different,1:06and we got more involved with this as the project evolved, was making sure the surfaces were fresh.1:11Because when we started bringing them back to the computer and we started to separate them1:15and started to look at the surfaces that the tape was being a boundary for,1:21it started to evolve more of how we thought about the locations and what we1:27should be looking for. Within tape art we've been drawing in silhouette for 171:34years. Now, rigidly staying within the silhouette format, the silhouette1:40format allows for the drawing to be you're outlining an area of a wall and1:48and declaring that new positive space as a representation of something.1:54It's a very, very little amount of material blocking out a space that is now considered to be a drawing.2:03...but they respected him.2:06Mark Bavis had started for the Boston University Terriers from 1990 to 1993.2:13He was a great defensive forward and a real smart playmaker.2:17He really enjoyed some of the finer places in our country and loved to have a good time.← Location 389Heart Four · Location 390Location 391 →
