The entrance to the ice cream shop is framed on either side by a black metal gate and on the left a triangular space created by the side of a stoop leading up to number 25.0:24This drawing was made sitting in this triangular space, which is a roughly textured stone,0:30painted orange, and bordered by a concrete floor.0:36This is Jeffrey Olsen.0:38He was drawn in July of 2004.0:42His drawing is counting one person.0:45Through that barrage of imagery and the most simplistic connection we could make with Manhattan0:51was to draw a heart, and then the idea of drawing hearts0:56moving up Manhattan away from the World Trade Center,1:00sort of like the smoke of that day,1:04and so that sort of gave us a sense of it having progression1:08and sort of like slipping, billowing, if you will,1:11away from the epicenter of the tragedy.1:15And then obviously beyond that,1:17the heart just gives us one of the most simplistic metaphors that you anyone can1:24latch on to and embrace and so we can say very quite literally that we hearts1:31[unclear] New York1:34Jeffrey J Olson who was 31 grew up beside Kingfisher pond on Staten Island1:40where he loved to fish but always released his catch usually with a kiss1:45They scanned the sky for Hawks and delighted in a full moon.← Location 481Heart Four · Location 482Location 483 →
