It's on the surface facing towards the building and appears to be in0:36perpetual darkness. The sun never seems to reach this space and all of our documentation of this0:42site has always been dark and gray. The pillar is across the street from a loading dock where we0:49initially attempted to make this drawing. We attempted to take our photographs in the spring0:54In the spring of 2006, again, we were turned away from even documenting the entrance to this loading dock.1:01This is Michael Fiore. He was drawn in March of 2003. His drawing is counting 10 people.1:12A dirty, empty loading dock with the doors wide open appeared to be our next location.1:17We entered and chatted with the security officer to obtain permission.1:21What followed was a 40-minute bureaucratic parade of why the person1:26speaking at the time was not the one that was capable of giving us permission.1:30The domino effect was noteworthy. By the time we had heard a 15-minute rant from1:35the building maintenance supervisor about how every person in the room,1:39including us, would lose their jobs and we would all be out on the streets, we1:43figured it was time to move on. There was too much panic in everyone's voice.1:48Across from the building we found a nowhere area and drew on a pillar under the surveillance of a security camera.1:57Michael Fiore was a city firefighter known for his calm composure in everything he did.2:03Known as reserved and compassionate, a good listener, and a good friend,2:08firefighter Fiore became something else on the court.2:11He was a very quiet guy, but not when he played basketball, Mrs. Fiore said.← Location 216Heart Three · Location 217Location 218 →
