His drawing is counting four people.0:39It is so refreshing to be working on the streets. With this drawing of Thomas F McGuinness Jr.,0:46we are officially out of the park and back into a world of a million tons of steel, concrete,0:51and brick, piled into neat vertical rectangles. It is also a big deal just to be here, drawing.0:58By percentage, we will spend about 3% of this project actually drawing in Manhattan. The1:03other 97% is back in Providence, Rhode Island in a moderately sized two-story brick building1:08from the mid-1800s. The building was originally a horse stable, but in its most recent reincarnation,1:14It is a storage facility for potatoes.1:17We live next to a potato processor.1:20It is also the home to a small group of artists, of which I am one.1:24We do not have heat, haven't had heat for six years now.1:27But worry not, in the winter we have barricaded ourselves in a tiny little recording studio1:32that is surrounded by six inches of sand and has no windows.1:36In this, the Winter Palace, we have temporary shelter from the rest of the building.1:41And in this pocket of warm air, we work from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day we can towards the completion of this project.1:50It must be said again that it is so nice to be outside and working, meeting people, physically exerting ourselves, and learning more about the people we are drawing.1:59He was active in his community and church. I just think he set an example for all of us, and we're going to sorely miss him.2:05Tom McGinnis, 42, co-captain of American Airlines Flight 11, the first jet to hit one of the2:14World Trade Center's twin towers, was described by friends as a devoted...← Location 297Heart Three · Location 298Location 299 →
