In fact, coming up at the end of this June 2003 is the deadline date for memorials.1:00Note, they ended up receiving over 5,200 proposals from all over the world. At that point, the plans1:07will go before a 13-person panel to make the decisions about what permanent memorial should1:12appear at the grounds of the World Trade Center. We have been reading about proposals for the last1:17year or so. More often than not, every time I read a story online about a new memorial idea,1:23I am working away on our own act of remembrance at that very moment.1:28I am not sure if this classifies as irony, but it has all the earmarks.1:34Writing about it doesn't help clarify my feelings on how our efforts fit into the grander scheme of things.1:40We know, though, from the magnitude of proposals that they received,1:44that we are far from alone in our desires to honor, clarify, and demystify this tragic event from almost two years ago.1:51I am comforted in knowing that the number of proposals is only a small fraction of all the people that wish to do something.1:58I finish up my thoughts as I finish up my drawing of Joseph Henry.2:02Joseph Oswald Pick Henry never played professional baseball, but there were plenty of people who thought he did, and some of them have his autograph.2:11He was usually the first to arrive at a party and the last one to leave, said his longtime girlfriend, Julia Corrales.← Location 298Heart Three · Location 299Location 300 →
