Our drawing was made between the first air conditioner0:26and a thin retractable metal door slightly in front of a fire hydrant protruding out of the sidewalk.0:33This is Carl Molinaro.0:35He was drawn in July of 2004.0:38His drawing is counting one person.0:43Passing another drawing.0:44Beige wall on East 118th Street.0:47This is a great photograph that Mike probably has on the iPod, but I'll describe it briefly.0:51as I was documenting this figure that either myself or Andrew had drawn.0:56And we had encountered some resistance because a woman in the top row of apartments across the street,1:03so it looks like a four-story red brick building, had been poking her head out of the window.1:08We were rather curious as to know what we were doing1:10and kind of upset that somebody was drawing on the walls in her neighborhood.1:13And we've seen a remarkable lack of graffiti on the building as we're walking today.1:18So we finally got her approval.1:23screaming at us for a kinder adjective.1:25So I'm taking photographs of this picture1:28of a fireman with his hands extended,1:31and a young man, probably about my age,1:33was just walking alone along this street1:37towards 2nd Avenue, and as he passed the drawing,1:41he reached out with his hand1:42to touch the hand of the drawing,1:44and that kind of interaction with a piece of artwork1:47is something that we can be really psyched to create,1:50And I was just lucky enough to be across the street taking photographs, and I anticipated that moment and was able to snap a quick photo of it.1:59Company 3 on East 13th Street, Steve Olson was known as The Rock.2:04Cheerful, optimistic, diligent, reliable, Firefighter Olson arrived in 1989, fresh out of the fire academy, and never left.2:13He proved to be an excellent probie.
