To find the approximate location of this drawing, you can enter into Central Park off of 5th Avenue at East 90th Street. Go south on the bridle path, follow it until you have passed under the bridge at the southern point of the reservoir, and keep walking.0:21South of this location is a vehicular road and from the bridle path eventually you will see a0:27street lamp lighting that road. In front of the street lamp is a tree with a fairly thick trunk,0:32to the right of it a thinner twisting tree, and to the right of that a tree that diverges into a0:39V and then into a V again. At the base of that tree to the left the drawing was made out of0:44leaves that had fallen from the limbs above.0:48This is Frank Palombo.0:50He was drawn in July of 2004.0:53His drawing is counting one person.0:57You know, there's a good argument to make for the Internet is public, and there's a1:01good argument to make for it is not.1:02But in a lot of ways, the Internet is far more public than New York City.1:07The number of people who have the financial access to this city or geographical access1:12access to the city is certainly much smaller than the number of people who have access1:16to the internet all over the globe.1:18It's documentation, but it's also sort of, it becomes the sort of lasting testament to1:23the acts of making the drawings, you know?1:26Absolutely, and people want that.1:28When people ask us about the work that we do and ask us questions about tape art, one1:34of the first five questions is always, do you guys take pictures?1:38They want to know that these things will live beyond...1:43This field we're walking through, where one of the drawings was.1:47...and two daughters, ages 1 to 15.1:50Mrs. Palambo would look down the dinner table and catch him weeping.1:54I'm so fortunate to have all these children, he would say.1:59There was no arrow straighter than Mr. Palambo.2:02His moral outlook was shaped by studying for the priesthood,2:05his degree in philosophy, the Roman Catholic prayer group.← Location 487Heart Four · Location 488Location 489 →
