The easiest way to get to it is to enter in0:04through West 77th Street. You'll cross over the bike path and you'll see a park0:10sign that reads Hearns Head. The Hearns Head sign marks a path that leads in0:16towards the lake. When you enter the path stay to the left and keep following it.0:23Eventually you'll see a decorative rectangular gazebo and between the0:27The gazebo in the lake is a large, large rock, most likely with people on it, with a beach0:32of mulch in front of it.0:34Our drawing was done in the center of this rock, on a slight shelf that is comfortable0:41to sit on, just like the drawing was made.0:44This is Dana Hannon.0:46He was drawn in June of 2003.0:51His drawing is counting eight people.0:55While the first drawing in the park had felt like a complete cakewalk,0:59the second required a mustering of courage.1:02Our first rock was relatively secluded,1:05and there were not a great deal of people mingling about.1:09Here, the landscape was dotted with families, couples, and individuals1:13in a potpourri of recreational activities.1:16It was back to conscientious performance mode of reminding myself1:20of what we were doing and being prepared to project the ideas, goals, and integrity of the project1:25to anyone who inquired with their eyes, mouth, or stern posture. Once I began drawing, my self-consciousness1:33abdowed away, and I focused on just drawing and delighting myself with a combination of the green1:38tape on the surface of the stone. When it came to guileless sarcasm, firefighter Dana Hannon1:45could be a virtual artiste.1:47But Hannon, 29, also had a charming and romantic side,1:51along with a flair for the dramatic.1:53On a trip to Australia in July,1:56while his sister Kyle and two friends watched,1:59he proposed to Alison Danson,2:01his girlfriend of five years,2:02atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge.2:05Hannon of Suffren was handsome, funny, caring,2:09protective, compassionate, and handy.← Location 278Heart Three · Location 279Location 280 →
